Although this August looks a little different than last year, there are still plenty of fun Memphis events happening across town. Most of the events are virtual, but that doesn’t mean they are any less fun. Make some friends, check out these events, and make the most of this month!

August 1st, 15th and 29th, 2020: Twilight Tours: DINOS After Dark

Starting August 1, afternoon family-friendly fun is available at the Memphis Zoo from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Take a look at what the animals are up to for fun at night, and even catch a glimpse of some dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures. This event is ages 5+ and requires masks for any part of the tour that takes place inside. Tickets are $ 25 for members and $ 30 for non-members. memphiszoo.org

Until August 2, 2020: World Golf Championship – FedEx St. Jude Invitational

The WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational is the Memphis PGA tournament that continues to support the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Experience four days of golf action at TPC Southwind. Although the event doesn’t allow fans, you can still catch the excitement on TV or stream it live with friends. The tour runs until August 2nd. Pgatour.com

August 8-17, 2020: Elvis Virtual Week at Graceland

Elvis fans, are you ready for the weeklong celebration of your dreams? Enjoy Elvis Presley’s music, movies, and heritage at Graceland for a week. August 15, 2020: Virtual miles for the melanoma race

This virtual 5K run / walk will take place on August 15th. There is no registration fee. However, if you collect $ 100 or more, you will receive a t-shirt in the mail. So grab your tennis shoes and run for a good cause in your neighborhood! join.melanoma.org

August 21-23, 2020: Memphis runs for Autism Virtual 5K

August 22, 2020: 9th annual Virtual SpeakEasy Gala

Just because this event is virtual doesn’t mean you won’t be able to enjoy delicious food from the best restaurants in town! The SpeakEasy Gala features entertainment, an auction and a wine train. Every Tuesday until August 25, 2020: Virtual Our Yoga Downtown Session

August 28-30, 2020: 12th annual Forrest Spence 5K

The Forrest Spence 5K supports the work of the Forrest Spence Fund, which helps families with teething problems. This year’s event is virtual and it costs $ 25 for adults and $ 15 for children to register. With your registration fee you will receive a T-shirt, a start number, access to an interactive training group and awards from the weekend. August 29, 2020: Beer and bagel run

The beer and bagel run takes place on the Wolf River and begins on August 29 at 9 a.m. To make this race as safe as possible, groups of six to ten people are started at the same time. At the finish line, pick up your swag, have a cold brew, and enjoy music after the race if you’re comfortable.
