North Carolina firefighter dies after battling COVID-19

DURHAM – A North Carolina firefighter has died after battling COVID-19 for more than a month.

The Durham Fire Department announced the death of 45-year-old Jeremy Klemm in a Facebook post on Sunday morning. The 15-year-old employee died late Saturday.

“He will be very missing,” said the fire brigade in their Facebook post.

Klemm began his career with the Durham Fire Department on February 27, 2006 after graduating from Fire Academy 19. On January 2nd, 2020 he was promoted to fire service driver and was last assigned to Engine 8 A-Shift.

14 people were arrested during an undercover operation targeting prostitution crimes in High Point, police say

HIGH POINT – Recent covert operations against crimes related to prostitution resulted in 14 arrests at High Point, police said in a press release.

After complaints from the public, the Vice / Narcotics department began targeting “call girls”, “street prostitutes” and the people in their services, according to police.

According to the police, four women and ten men between the ages of 21 and 80 are among those arrested.

The charges range from soliciting prostitution to practicing prostitution.
