Burlington man charged with fatally capturing Excessive Level man at Greensboro Resort, authorities say | crime

GREENSBORO – Authorities have arrested a Burlington man in connection with a fatal shootout at a Greensboro hotel, Greensboro Police said in a press release.

Preston Earl Love, 33, is charged with first degree murder and assault with a lethal weapon, along with the unloading of a firearm in occupied property and the possession of a firearm by a felon.

Love was taken into custody on independent charges, according to Caswell County police.

The arrest follows the October 4th shooting at Extended Stay America, 4317 Big Tree Way.

In response to a report of gunfire being fired, officers found Djimon Antonio Lucas, 23, from High Point, suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.

Lucas was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries, police said.
