Colfax girl killed in Bryan Boulevard accident that injured a child and one different individual, Greensboro Police say | Native information

GREENSBORO – A 22-year-old woman was killed and two others, including a two-month-old child, were injured in a vehicle crash on Joseph M. Bryan Boulevard earlier this morning, Greensboro police said.

At around 10 a.m., Shannon Bailey Morton from Colfax was with two passengers, Phillip Jones, 28, and Malik Jones, the two-month-old child, both from Colfax, on Bryan Boulevard to the east, police said.

Morton lost control of the vehicle and it went off the road near the Holden Road exit, police said.

Morton died as a result of her injuries, according to police, and the passengers were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Police said there were no charges pending, but the casualty reconstruction unit is investigating.

GREENSBORO – Joseph M. Bryan Boulevard is closed due to a car accident, according to Greensboro Police Department on Holden Road.

Both directions of Joseph M. Bryan Boulevard are closed because of the crash, the police said.
