Giveaway for again to highschool gadgets from Greensboro and Reidsville

Two Greensboro groups will be handing out more than 3,000 backpacks containing notebooks and other school supplies, including hand sanitizer and masks, on Saturday August 1st

GREENSBORO, NC – Some needs don’t stop during a pandemic, and that includes the need for school supplies, especially as families continue to face serious financial difficulties.

The Greensboro Group, I Am A Queen and The Reidsville, The Last Dons are running separate giveaways to get school kids the items they need before school starts August 17, 2020.

Both freebies will be driven through events this Saturday, August 1st, 2020.

Although the start of the school year with distance learning at home will be different, I Am A Queen’s Alana V. Allen says the needs will remain the same.

“Some teachers will tell you that the kids will take a photo of their homework and email it to them instead of uploading it to the classroom page or blackboard. So we thought it was important to hand out school supplies this year, though it’s different in Guilford County, “said Allen, the organization’s founder and executive director.
