Greensboro PTI Airport is prepared for pickup

GREENSBORO, NC (WGHP) – People are ready to get back to flying. Piedmont Triad International Airport Executive Director Kevin Baker believes there will be a lot going on this summer.

It’s a welcome change after a very quiet year at PTI.

Before the pandemic, around 3,000 passengers flew out of Greensboro on a busy day.

On April 18, 2020, the slowest day during the pandemic, only 75 people flew out of the airport.

Baker believes fewer COVID-19 cases and more vaccinations will mean a huge surge in passenger numbers this summer.
