GREENSBORO, NC – April 29, 2020 – The Greensboro Transit Agency (GTA) has announced the return of the fixed route bus, effective immediately, serving Lines 21-27, as well as 12A and 15, commuting from work and other necessary travel. Additional service changes are possible.

The temporary business interruption, which began on Wednesday morning due to a positive COVID-19 diagnosis from the bus operator and a subsequent temporary operator shortage, enabled GTA maintenance teams and professional firms to thoroughly clean and disinfect buses and transit facilities. Even during the interruption, fruitful discussions between operators and management contract partner Keolis North America assured that returning employees would immediately address concerns about the protection of operators and drivers.

The GTA service will remain toll-free during the COVID-19 pandemic. Drivers are encouraged to continue to follow mandatory CDC guidelines to prevent the virus from spreading and to flatten the curve.
