Kannapolis man was charged in August of capturing the loss of life of a Greensboro man, police say | crime
GREENSBORO – A Kannapolis man was charged in August with a double shootout that killed a local, police said.
Demario Bernard Montgomery, 29, is charged with first degree murder in the death of 21-year-old Travon Lamont Williamson of Greensboro. He is also charged with attempted first degree murder in the shooting of a second victim who survived.
Officers replied to South Street and Randleman Road at around 9:40 p.m. on Aug. 27 for a report of a shooting, police said in a press release. The officers found two people in a vehicle who had been shot and were taken to a local hospital by ambulance services.
The next day, police said Williamson had died from his injuries. The name of the second victim was not disclosed. Police previously said the victim had sustained injuries that were not classified as life-threatening.
