Man on Friday in Greensboro | Native killed in a single car wreck

GREENSBORO – One person was killed and three others injured in a single vehicle accident on Interstate 40 Friday afternoon, police said.

Eduin Sosa Arteaga, with no age or address, was traveling east on I-40 when he tried to take Exit 222 at the last minute and lost control of the 2006 Chevrolet Express he was driving, police said in a press release with. The van slipped off the left side of the ramp, hit an embankment and rolled around several times, police said.

The officers responded to the wreck around 1:40 p.m. and found that Arteaga had been thrown from the vehicle and died of his injuries. The three passengers were treated on Friday for injuries that were not classified as life-threatening, police said.

Police said driver error and excessive speed were factors in the crash.
