Metropolis of Greensboro Honored for Particular GIS Achievement | information

GREENSBORO, NC (July 14, 2021) – Esri, the global leader in location intelligence, has presented the City of Greensboro with the Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award. Greensboro was selected from more than 300,000 eligible candidates and received the award for its innovative use of mapping and analysis technology.

The SAG Awards are designed to show appreciation for organizations that use GIS to understand complex data and meet challenges around the world. Award-winning users demonstrate all the groundbreaking possibilities of GIS software. The City of Greensboro was one of 193 organizations to receive awards in areas such as commercial industry, defense, transportation, community service, telecommunications, and government. The basis for the award was the implementation of Enterprise GIS, the open data platform Hub and advances in spatial analysis. The projects were mainly led by employees from the information technology and water management departments.
