Myrtle Elizabeth Kiger Hedrick, 93, of Greensboro, was with her master with her family by her side on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.
The funeral will take place on Monday, August 23, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the Shannon Hills Bible Chapel, followed by a funeral in Guilford Memorial Park.
Myrtle was born on November 6, 1927, to the late Sollie and Myrtle Kiger. She lived in Kernersville until 1946, when she married Olen Francis Hedrick and moved to Greensboro. Myrtle worked at Wrangler for 38 years and then retired from the position of purchasing director. Upon her retirement in 1989, she began volunteering in the gift shop at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital, where she served for an additional fifteen years. Myrtle was delighted to attend her church, Shannon Hills Bible Chapel, for sixty-four years, where she taught Sunday School, helped with Summer Bible School, worked with the mission group, and served on the women’s committee.
Together with her parents, Myrtle precedes her husband Olen in death; four brothers, Laurston, Ollie, Luther and Clyde; and four sisters, Minnie, Della, Irma and Betty Ruth.
Myrtle is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Hedrick of Greensboro; Sisters, Frances Young (Carl) of Summerfield and Shirley Whitaker of Kernersville.
The family will receive friends in the church on Monday, August 23, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. before the service.
