Hubbard, Marion Turner

Greensboro – Marion Turner Hubbard died on December 29, 2020. She was born on February 12, 1929 in Guilford County to Thomas and Elizabeth Turner. She attended Greensboro Senior High School at St. Marys Junior College and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority.

After graduating, Marion worked for the Greensboro Housing Authority for several years. From 1997 to 2017 she was President of AP Hubbard Wholesale Lumber Corp. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, the Colonial Dames of North Carolina, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of the Greensboro Junior League, Greensboro Rotary Club, and Greensboro Country Club.

She had a great zest for life and an enormous love for her family and many friends; She will be missed immeasurably by everyone.

Marion is survived by her younger brother Henry Turner (Jane) from Winston-Salem; her daughters Elizabeth Hubbard from Tucsan, Arizona and Ada Cosby (Edward) from Manakin-Sabot, VA; her grandsons Marion Kastenbaum (Jon) from Manakin-Sabot, VA, Annie Gottwald (Bruce) from Denver, Colorado, and Ainslie Cosby from Austin, Texas; and a great-grandson Ada Kastenbaum.

Marion is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ainslie Perrow Hubbard, and her older brother Thomas Turner III (Sylvia). Her special friend Ed Wrenn precedes death.

The memorial service will take place at a later date in the Episcopal Church of the Holy Trinity. Marion is taken to the columbarium next to her husband.
