Blade, William “Bill”

William “Bill” Presser Klinge, 88, resident of Greensboro, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, after a period of dwindling health in his home. He was born in St. Louis, MO, to Charles Fredrick and Sarah Presser Klinge.

He worked for Burlington Industries for 25 years, where he was a supervisor. After Burlington closed, Bill became a freelance painter. He was a Korean conflict veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Bill was a member of the Southside Baptist Church.

He is survived from home by his wife, Carolyn Sue Mitchell Blade; two daughters; Debra K. Perkins and husband Danny of Greensboro, Kathy Lynn K. Elkins and husband Kennith of Greensboro; five grandchildren, Kenneth “Kenny” Perkins, Melodie Perkins, Benjamin Perkins, Kimberly Elkins Dunn, Joshua Elkins and four great-grandchildren, Cierra Anast, Stephen Prater, Jeremiah Prater and Katy Lyn Dunn.

The funeral services will take place at 3:00 p.m. at the Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, Sedgefield Chapel, under the direction of Reverend Dr. Howard R. McNeill Jr. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2 p.m. until the service.
