Taaza Indian bistro (336-285-7878; http://taazabistro.com/greensboro/) opened on 1216-M Bridford Parkway in the Wendover Place Mall in Greensboro.

It opened in the former Bear Rock Cafe space and is a sister location to the Taaza Indian Bistro at 579 Huffman Mill Road in Burlington.

The Taaza offers traditional Indian dishes such as chicken, goat, seafood and vegetarian.

Many products are dishes from South India, including Tamilnadu and Hydrabadi such as Dum Biryani, a type of rice casserole with goat or chicken, yogurt and spices.

Indochinese and North Indian dishes are also on the menu.

Items in the charcoal tandoor oven include marinated Cornish hen or chicken breast, lamb kabab, salmon, and shrimp.

A variety of breads are freshly baked in the tandoor, such as the traditional plain naan and a variety of flavored naans, including sweet coconut or cheese. Some are filled with potatoes or lamb.

The restaurant offers a wide variety of dosas that resemble a crepe that is rolled around fillings such as potatoes and onions, chutney or scrambled eggs.

A 6-foot – yes, six-foot dosa – can be filled with a choice of meat or vegetables for $ 27.
