GREENSBORO – No residents were injured in a Friday morning fire that destroyed four units at the Grandview Point Apartments, according to Greensboro Fire Department Deputy Chief Dwayne Church.
Firefighters received the call at 6:17 am and arrived at the apartment building on the 1800 block of McKnight Mill Road at 6:23 am, Church said.
Seventeen employees were on site in six minutes, he said, and a second alarm was raised to provide additional staff.
A lightly injured firefighter was cared for on site, Church said. The fire brigade set up a tent with heaters to provide residents with a warm place to wait for help from the Red Cross.
The structural damage is estimated at $ 150,000, he said. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
