three weekend occasions end in numerous highway closures in Greensboro | Native information
GREENSBORO – Three events will result in road closures in Greensboro this weekend.
Parts of the lanes on Coliseum Boulevard will be closed on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to around 12:00 p.m. for the 5K Human Race, police said in a press release.
A south-facing lane of the boulevard between Trogdon and Old Chapman Streets will be closed to vehicular traffic to give participants a safe route.
Drivers should expect temporary closures of cross streets along the route during this time. Drivers and pedestrians are advised that the hand and arm signals of the police officer have priority over all other traffic control devices.
Starting on Sunday, 1:45 p.m., several streets will be closed to vehicle traffic for the Walk for Recovery.
The following streets will be closed:
• North Elm Street between Bellemeade Street and Friendly Avenue from 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm
• Temporary road closure along the route if participants continue from 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm
During these two events, police will be deployed at key intersections to keep traffic flowing properly and to protect the safety, health and wellbeing of event attendees.
