Tickets on sale for the Professional Swim Sequence in Greensboro

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – With an exciting 2019-2020 swimming season just around the corner, tickets are now on sale for the first stop of the TYR Pro Swim Series in Greensboro, NC. The four-day long distance event takes place on November 6th at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. 9, 2019, with tickets to all sessions available through Ticketmaster.

The TYR Pro Swim Series is one of the most competitive national series of events on the calendar, attracting between 400 and 600 of the world’s best swimmers, including members of the USA Swimming National Team, members of the National Junior Team and top 50 world swimmers. The events will be broadcast on NBCSN, the Olympic Channel and live streamed on usaswimming.org.

The six-time Olympic champion will headline the opening event of the TYR Pro Swim Series 2020 Katie Ledecky (Bethesda, Md / Stanford Swimming / Alto Swim Club). Ledecky took 10 wins in the TYR Pro Swim Series in 2019, most of all female competitors and also good for the top record for a woman since 2015. Also in the pool of the Greensboro Aquatic Center are the 2020 Olympic qualifiers and Duke Swimming alum Ashley Twichell (Fayetteville, NY / TAC Titans) and four-time Olympic champion Simone Manuel (Sugar Land, Texas / Alto Swim Club).

At the men’s events, the talented young duo from Luca screams (Sacramento, Calif./DART Swimming) and Carson Foster (Montgomery, Ohio / Mason Manta Rays) make their US national team debut after winning nine combined medals at the FINA Junior World Championships in Budapest, Hungary last August. The US national team will also be represented Michael Chadwick (Charlotte, NC / Unattached / Team Elite), Jacob Pebley (Corvallis, Ore./California Aquatics) and Justin Ress (Cary, NC / NC State University / Wolfpack Elite).

This is the first time this series has traveled to Greensboro. The last time the series took place in North Carolina was in Charlotte in 2016. Greensboro is also the first of five stops on the 2020 TYR Pro Swim Series calendar, which includes trips to Knoxville, Tennessee, Des Moines, Iowa, Mission Viejo, California, and Indianapolis, Indiana. The Greensboro competition begins Thursday November 6th with the men’s and women’s 1,500-meter freestyle. After the distance freestyle events, the competition follows the same daily routine. The prelims take place Thursday through Sunday at 9:00 a.m. EST and the finals begin every night at 6:00 p.m. EST.
