GREENSBORO – All of the East Cone Boulevard lanes that were closed due to flooding tonight have reopened, police said around 8:10 p.m.

GREENSBORO – All lanes on East Cone Boulevard between Yanceyville and North Church streets are closed due to flooding, police said.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area.

Guilford County is under a flash flood warning until 9:15 p.m., the National Weather Service said. The area has received 1 to 3 inches of rain, forecasters said.

A flood warning is valid until 8:30 p.m.

Weather forecasters warn motorists to turn around if an area appears flooded. Most of the flood deaths occur in vehicles, said the weather service.

At 7.45 p.m., around 32,600 people across the state were without power, Duke Energy reported on its outage website. In the triad, most outages are concentrated in Forsyth County, where approximately 9,000 customers have been without power. In Guilford County, fewer than 300 were without electricity at the time, according to Duke Energy.
