“Not only do we have sworn police officers working in this building, but we also have many civilian employees working in this building,” he said.
Going forward, the State Bureau of Investigation will take over the case, which is the standard procedure in a shooting with an officer.

GREENSBORO – All streets around the police headquarters in the city center have been reopened, the police said in a press release around 8:15 p.m.
The streets around 100 E. Police Plaza had been closed to an investigation that began Friday shortly after 3 p.m. when someone set fire to a police vehicle in the department’s parking lot.
This prompted the officers to confront the person who the police said they attacked an officer. Three officers responded by shooting the suspect to end the threat, police said earlier.
The suspect was declared dead on site, the police said. The injured policeman was taken to a local hospital.
