“Not only do we have sworn police officers working in this building, but we also have many civilian employees working in this building,” he said.

Going forward, the State Bureau of Investigation will take over the case, which is the standard procedure in a shooting with an officer.

This prompted the officers to confront the person who the police said they attacked an officer. Three officers responded by shooting the suspect to end the threat, police said earlier.

The suspect was declared dead on site, the police said. The injured policeman was taken to a local hospital.
